Building Friendships, Building Community in Spring Hill, Tennessee

For many adults with special abilities, the journey after high school can feel isolating. The structured social world of school fades away, and with it, the friendships and sense of belonging that made life vibrant. Friday Night Out came to Spring Hill, Tennessee with a simple but powerful mission: to fill that gap by creating real friendships and a genuine community.

In February 2024, the Spring Hill group gathered for the very first time. There was a dance party, pizza, games, and cupcakes. More than anything, there was connection. From that first night, something special began to take shape.

Now, month after month, adults with special abilities come through the doors of the Winchester Community Facility on the first Friday of every month for a dance party full of laughter and fun. But the community doesn't stop there. We also get together a second time each month for a social event, whether that's going out for dinner, an excursion, or a new adventure together. Two chances every month to show up, connect, and belong.

Friendships are forming. People have others to call, others to celebrate with, and a community that sees them and welcomes them.

That is what Friday Night Out is all about. Not just a fun evening out, but a foundation for a fuller life. Because friendships matter. Community matters. And every person deserves to have both.
