Noralyn Giles

Executive Director, Board Chair and Co-Founder

Some ideas begin as a spark. For Noralyn, it began with love.

A career in the airline industry and a role as a school district program coordinator gave Noralyn a natural gift for bringing people together. But it was her own family's journey that lit the fire. Her child with Down Syndrome became the inspiration behind Friday Night Out, shaping a mission centered on friendship, creativity, and the simple but profound joy of belonging.

Noralyn co-founded Friday Night Out with a vision as clear as it was generous: a space where everyone has a seat at the table and everyone truly belongs. What began as a deeply personal mission has grown into a thriving community of extraordinary people, stretching across the country and into the lives of countless families. Week after week, she finds joy in watching friendships deepen, perspectives expand, and a remarkable team of volunteers pour their hearts into making a difference. That team, the FNO Love Team, is proof that when people come together around something meaningful, incredible things happen.

Noralyn is currently pursuing a Nonprofit Management Credential at Cal State East Bay, continuing to grow both herself and the organization she loves. Outside of Friday Night Out, she enjoys a full life with her husband, three adult children, grandchildren, and two cats.
