Megan Portoni is a former educator and devoted mother of four, including a young adult with special needs. That experience gives her a front-row seat to the challenges adults with special abilities face when it comes to building friendships and finding their place in the world. It also gave her the drive to do something about it.

Megan co-founded Friday Night Out with a vision of creating a space where adults with special abilities could connect, belong, and thrive. What started as an idea rooted in one family's experience has grown into a community that stretches across the country.

Megan lives in San Ramon, California with her husband, Matt. In her spare time, she enjoys walking with friends and staying connected to her community.
